It's best to spot clean all cloth hats with a damp cloth using cold water, or hand-wash in a sink if necessary. We recommend using plant-based soaps because regular detergents can be toxic for our waterways.
Always let your hat dry naturally. If your hat gets out of shape, you can use steam from a tea kettle to reshape it. Hold the hat in the steam and allow it to soften. You can then reshape your hat to its original shape and then let it cool down before wearing.
Another option to take out wrinkles on the brim is to place a clean rag or old T-shirt over the wrinkled area then iron the area.
This is my 3rd hat from Conner and it is another amazing hat. I got the Kangaroo Crossing for Christmas and wanted something really light weight that I can wear when on the scuba boat, kayaking, packing for Mexico, 90 degrees + days, etc.
I just received the Bass Fisher Recycled hat for Father's Day and I love it. I also love that Conner uses recycled plastic bottles to make this hat. The brim has a thin wire ring to help keep the shape and I was able to kind of shape it to give it that true Outback look - up on the sides and down in the front and back.
It doesn't fit as snug as the Kangaroo leather hat but it is sized right - maybe runs a 1/4 size bigger. No big deal.
If I could change anything about this hat, I would prefer the chin cord be removable. I currently have the cord tucked in the pocket in the top and it is completely out of the way.
