I found out about BC hats from a mate of mine, whose grandfather had gotten one of these (khaki-coloured) from his friend, who was in Australia for holidays. Sadly, the hat didn't fit, so my mate sold the hat to me for 50 euros. With the hat I got the verification document, the BC brass mark and everything, so I certainly know the hat is a genuine Bill Conner.
Have to say that this hat is an interesting one in comparison to beaver fur or wool hats (bought from Lock and Co. and a pair of thrift stores I've visited), which have been more in use on my head. The hat is nice and tight, but it's a bit of a ballgame to put it on the head securely. However, when it does sit, it actually feels good and gives a nice look; even with a wide brim. Makes me feel like Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2.
Just saying that even thou I never considered owning a steerhide hat, I'm glad I have one now. Gonna be useful during the cool days of spring (March-May) and fall (August-October), when it's wet, yet sunny outside.
Thanks for the hat, and greetings from Finland! Stay classy!
