This is a crushable wide brimmed outback shaped hat. Has a weathered look and chin cord for windy days.
What is weathered cotton? It's a mixture of cotton and polyester that gives the hat a leather-like look and feel, as well as water resistant capabilities.
It's best to spot clean all cloth hats with a damp cloth using cold water, or hand-wash in a sink if necessary. We recommend using plant-based soaps because regular detergents can be toxic for our waterways.
Always let your hat dry naturally. If your hat gets out of shape, you can use steam from a tea kettle to reshape it. Hold the hat in the steam and allow it to soften. You can then reshape your hat to its original shape and then let it cool down before wearing.
Another option to take out wrinkles on the brim is to place a clean rag or old T-shirt over the wrinkled area then iron the area.
In my never-ending (until now) hunt for as-vegan-as-possible hiking hats, I tried to make due with tarp hats for a while. They're fun and, depending on how you shape the brim, really cool. But just don't ever sweat in them cause that's never coming out and does nothing to improve the looks of the thing. My new Conner hat has already been worn on a dozen hot day hikes and doesn't look new, it looks better than new cause it's starting to look broken in. Fits really well. Looks really good on me. Reasonably priced. I mean, what else is there?
All I can say is they better never go out of business just in case I ever need a replacement.
Thank you for your kind review! We're glad the hat is standing up to the rigors of your hikes. Enjoy!
I loved my Dorfman Pacific hat over the years of wearing the same hat. They make quality hats. It was extremely dorable, and it fit the look and fulfilled the purpose that I intended. However, I disliked the metal wire around the brim, as it always got bent going through the jungles, and it always left awkward-looking photos. After searching for a couple of years, and strictly by accident, I ordered your Conner hat thinking that it would have been close to my favorite Dorfman Pacific hat. To my astonished discovery, it was the same hat, only excluding that wire brim. Also, your hat had a nice secret pocket inside, which is an added bonus that my other hat just did not accommodate. If this hat is as strong as my Dorfman Pacific, than you have a wearer for life. I will be ordering three or more...so get your shovels ready. I want to think you and the team who brought happiness to my home. My hat means so much to me; it liberated me in a time I needed it the most. It is more than just a hat to me...it represented and continues to represent a new beginning. One more thing: before I discovered the holy grail...your hats ..I paid almost $200 for my last hat from another company. And as high-quality as it is, I placed that hat away and excitedly wear your hat that I just recently bought. Your hat just feels and looks right on me.
We are absolutely honored by your words. Folks tend to forget that a hat isn't just an accessory like a handbag. To hat people, it represents the person's uniqueness and personality.
May you and your Conner Hat enjoy many adventures together.
Really enjoying my new hat
We really appreciate you giving us 5 stars for the hat. Enjoy!
I have several Conner Hats and I’m a fan of them all. However, the Tracker Hat went well above its description. While leading a pre-planned backpacking trip during the remnants of Hurricane Zeta, I decided to give this hat’s water performance a test. After 4 hours of constant rain, the underside of the hat and (more importantly) my head was COMPLETELY dry. Great Hat! And it looks good too!
You certainly put it through it's paces! Glad it stood up to your test. Enjoy!
Finally got this hat, been waiting for it to come back in stock, then COVID meant it took a while to receive it (Sydney, AUS). But arrived well packed, unharmed and looking fine! Nice fit (L for my 59 head, a generous fit), looks very durable and I hope it will be. Very light too. Looking fwd to wearing it over the summer, keeping the sun off my head and neck, but also in the winter when it'll cop some dampness.
