Liesel Arden: Art and Activism
An artist may be a dreamer, but a dreamer isn't necessarily an artist. The difference is action, especially in art and activism, where creativity meets purpose to drive change.
Artist/dreamer Liesel Arden recently completed a project she dubbed Signify Thirty, wherein she painted 30 artist portraits of inspiring folks in 30 days, all to raise awareness and funds for people living with Motor Neuron Disease. This remarkable example of art activism saw the portraits auctioned off in September 2015 with all proceeds to benefit Motor Neurone Disease NSW. This art for a cause showcases the power of painting portraits to promote motor neuron disease awareness and inspire art and social change.
We caught up with Liesel to learn more about her inspiring fusion of art activism, art for charity, and social change.
