    Suitability for saltwater fishing depends on the hat's material. Oilskin and waxed cotton styles provide additional water resistance for wet conditions. After saltwater exposure, rinse your hat in fresh water to help maintain it.

    Measure your head circumference at its widest point, about 1/2 inch above your ears, and match it to these sizes: Small, 21 1/4"-21 5/8" (6 3/4-6 7/8); Medium, 22"-22 3/8" (7-7 1/8); Large, 22 3/4"-23 1/4" (7 1/4-7 3/8); or X-Large, 23 1/2"-24" (7 1/2-7 5/8). Two free size inserts ship with every order. A fishing hat should feel snug but never uncomfortable: a loose hat can fly off when casting, while a hat that is too tight can cause headaches.
