Fashion Photography: Eco Friendly Hats & Creative Styling

I really enjoy being a part of our hat photoshoots and it's fun to watch the photographers and everyone involved on the production side do their thing. Our photographer for this fashion photography shoot was Carly Brown, we love her style and she has a calming personality and was kind enough to introduce us to Bee Cooper, Sky Jamieson and Montana Lower. Three beautiful women with super fun personalities. It's all about personality in fashion photography, capturing the essence of our eco friendly hats and showcasing sustainable fashion!

Generally on a hat photoshoot, we use just the shots we need for our website or catalog, but there are always so many extra shots that go unseen. From time to time, I'm happy to share them with you on our hat blog, giving you a glimpse of the fashion behind the scenes and the creative process involved in showcasing sustainable fashion and the art of hat styling.

When I first started doing photo shoots, the models were friends of mine that I tempted with a few beers and a free hat or two and who were kind enough to hang out with us for a day and venture into random spontaneous locations (abandoned farmhouses and cow paddocks with the occasional angry bull). This creative process was both exciting and unpredictable, adding a unique touch to our hat styling and enhancing the overall photoshoot experience. I still have a few good friends who shoot with us nowadays, contributing to the creative team.

One of them is Dane Burke. Dane has been amazing to work with; not only does he look good in our hats, showcasing excellent hat styling, but he is an all-around epic guy. Dane let us use his family farm as the location on day one of this shoot. Beautiful Byron Bay hinterland views, a wood workshop, a cabin with a pond and dock, and various old farm fences and hundred-year-old trees made for a perfect setting for our creative team, contributing to a memorable photoshoot experience.

On the second day of this shoot, we moved to Wategos Beach, one of Byron Bay's iconic beaches. The creative team loved the Pandanus trees at this location and the green grass meeting white sand meeting emerald water. It was a paradise that perfectly captured the essence of sustainable fashion, enhancing our photoshoot experience and showcasing our commitment to eco friendly hats through our fashion photography.
