Great Hat for Scorching Summer Days

This is my 3rd Conner Hat. I've got the Kangaroo Buffalo Leather Hat and the Bounty Hunter Waxed Cotton hat, both of which I love to wear in temperatures up into the low 80s. But I needed a cooler, lighter color hat for my long dog walks during the hottest days of summer where temps are in the 90s+.

I've been a Tilley fan for 20 years before I found Conner Hats. I wanted a safari style hat with a wide brim, a neutral light color and something that didn't make my head heat up like an oven in the baking sun.

The Aztec fit the bill. It's lightweight, light color, vented and has a HUGE wide brim. An added plus is the embedded wire that lets me shape the brim so it doesn't sag too low or flop around. The hatband adds a splash of color to my normal drab attire too. I bent the brim down in the back so it doesn't hit my headrest when driving.

This being my 3rd Conner hat, I've learned that I need to always order a size up. My head measures 22 5/8" with a hat size of 7 5/8. The sizing guides indicate I should be fine in a Medium or Large but I'm not. I have had to exchange all 3 hats for larger sizes. The Aztec in XL fits me perfectly. For my next Conner hat, I'll start with an XL to avoid having to return it.

That said, I highly recommend buying the Redo option. I've used it 3 times without issue.

I love the hat but I really wish I’d gotten a xxxl. The xxl is supposed to fit up to 7 7/8 which is my size but it’s a little snug. Here’s hoping it stretches a little!😊
