It's best to spot clean all cloth hats with a damp cloth using cold water, or hand-wash in a sink if necessary. We recommend using plant-based soaps because regular detergents can be toxic for our waterways.
Always let your hat dry naturally. If your hat gets out of shape, you can use steam from a tea kettle to reshape it. Hold the hat in the steam and allow it to soften. You can then reshape your hat to its original shape and then let it cool down before wearing.
Another option to take out wrinkles on the brim is to place a clean rag or old T-shirt over the wrinkled area then iron the area.
I bought this hat several years ago at a Tall Ships festival to get some shade from the blistering sun. It paid for itself that day. I wear it regularly on my boat, hiking, just about everywhere. If windy, put on the chin strap and it works great. My wife loved the hat, so I ordered one for her with the colorful band, which she also wears daily. I then bought one for my daughter which didn't turn out as well. Measured her head before ordering but unfortunately the hat was too small. And more unfortunately she didn't mention this until a year later. So we have very lightly used hat that doesn't work. Still trying to figure out a way to stretch it. Anyway, if I ever manage to wear out this hat I'll be ordering another. We travel a lot as well and you can stuff this in a suitcase and it pops back into shape easily when you take it out. It's a well thought out design, lightweight, and seemingly indestructible. Thanks Conner hats
You've turned your family into a Conner Hats family! They certainly are great hats and just about tick most boxes for outdoor use. Regarding stretching, they are difficult to stretch given the type of material they're made of and how they've been sewn together. That being said, we regularly give out discount codes through our newsletter so you might want to subscribe and use a discount code for your next purchase.
Using for fly fishing
Hopefully you can catch that big one!
This is my second Conner hat and Conner has delivered again. I had ordered two lower priced water hats from a well know brand but you get what you pay for. The hats, which were highly recommended, felt feather light and cheap. I immediately returned them and ordered this Tarpon Springs hat.
Again, I’m very happy with the quality of Conner hats. In spite of being made from recycled bottles, it feels much sturdier and the brim holds its shape. Looking forward to wearing white water rafting and kayaking later this month.
This one took a little longer to arrive but was still within a reasonable timeframe.
Only problem now is that my wife is jealous but all of the hats she likes are sold out. Any more inventory coming in in time for a trip last week of July?
Thanks again Conner Hats!
Glad you're liking the hat. If you haven't already, you should subscribe to our newsletter because we sometimes give out discount codes for the next purchase. As for new stock, most of it will be coming in late July/early August but the Tarpons might be late August/early September. Hopefully they come in much earlier than what has been mentioned but you never know.
Lover the Covver Tarpon Springs hat. Always wore "that other hat" but saw the Covver hat from a vendor at an event and tried it, loved it immediately. Now I have three. Keeps my head cool, covered and makes my dermatologist happy, have some skin cancer from years in the sun and the wide brim protects me. Made well, I watch their emails for sales to get another, my daily work hat is finally wearing out,
Have a look at our Sun Shield hat. It has the extra flap in the back to cover your exposed neck.
Exchanged for a different color. No problem with the exchange. The company made it very easy. Can't wait to get the new color. Good quality hat.
Glad you like it! Enjoy!
