    Men's Sun Hats

Men's sun hats: wide-brim outback, western, bucket, safari and boating hats. Most are rated UPF 50+ under our rules: the fabric is tested to ARPANSA standards, the hat has no open mesh, and the brim is at least 2.5 inches. A few hats here are not rated. Only hats that name a UPF rating on their product page are rated; see how we rate sun hats.

Every hat comes with our lifetime guarantee (50% off if lost or stolen), and shipping is free over $79.

Shade that works as hard as you do

Pick a hat for the way you spend time outside. Working the land or riding? A straw or wool cowboy hat, like the Cheyenne Roper or Hat Bar Rancher, gives a full brim. Hiking or fishing? Cotton and hemp outdoor hats like the Tracker, Yellowstone and Black Creek are light and breathable. On the water? The Aussie Surf, Seven Mile Surf and Sun Shield float if they go overboard.

Many of these hats are rated UPF 50+. Each product page shows its rating, and hats with open mesh, vents or brims under 2.5 inches carry no UPF rating.

    FAQs

Many of them are. Each hat's product page shows its rating if it has one. We test our hat materials with ARPANSA, Australia's radiation protection agency, and we only give a hat a UPF rating if it has no open mesh or open vents and a brim of at least 2.5 inches.

Look for a wide brim, a chin cord and a hat that floats. The Aussie Surf, Seven Mile Surf, Sun Shield and Murchasin River float, and the Tracker gives a wide brim in water-resistant cotton.

The Portland Waxed Cotton Rain Hat, Mountain Trail Waxed Cotton and Northern Front Oilskin are waterproof. Wool, leather and water-resistant cotton hats shed light rain and showers. Straw and raffia hats should be kept out of heavy rain.

Measure around your head just above the ears and across the middle of your forehead, then match the number to our hat size chart. Our hats run true to size, and two free size inserts help you fine-tune the fit.
