    Raffia's natural resin gives it mild water resistance, so a splash or light shower is fine. Don't fully soak it; let it dry naturally and use a little steam to smooth any wrinkles.

    Wide brims catch the breeze. For windy beaches or boat days, look for a hat with a chin cord, or choose a narrower brim like a fedora or boater.
