    Waterproof hats keep out heavy rain. Of our hats, only the Portland, Mountain Trail, Northern Front and Kentucky are waterproof. Water-resistant hats shed light rain and showers but are not made for downpours.

    Use Nikwax on cotton and canvas hats when water stops beading on the surface. Let the hat dry naturally afterwards.

    Shake off the water, reshape the hat by hand and let it dry naturally. Don't put it on a heater.
