    Many of them are. Each hat's product page shows its rating if it has one. We test our hat materials with ARPANSA, Australia's radiation protection agency, and we only give a hat a UPF rating if it has no open mesh or open vents and a brim of at least 2.5 inches.

    A wider brim shades more of your face, ears and neck. We only give a UPF rating to hats with a brim of at least 2.5 inches, and a wide-brim sun hat covers more than that.
