Will Conner

Will Conner created Conner Hats and writes many of the hat guides on this site.

Where he comes from

Conner Hats is family-run. Will's father, Bill Conner, has made hats in Byron Bay for over 50 years, after learning leatherwork in St. Augustine, Florida, in 1969. Will grew up around his father's hat factory in Byron Bay and later created the Conner Hats brand, which ships from American Fork, Utah. The hats are made in Australia, Sri Lanka, China, Pakistan and Mexico. Read the full family story.

Outside the hat business

Will grew up surfing and making music in Byron Bay. He opened for Jack Johnson on his 2008 tour of Australia and New Zealand, and again at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre in Florida. His music is on Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube.

In 2009 he spent 36 days paddling open kayaks down the east coast of Australia, from Byron Bay to Bondi Beach, and helped clean washed-up plastic off remote beaches along the way. That trip is why Conner Hats started removing single-use plastic from its products and packaging. How we make hats more responsibly.
