Made in Byron Bay, Australia at the BC hats factory. This is probably the best outdoor hat ever made! A big call yes, but its true. Made from waterproof canvas and features a coiled spring wire in the brim so this hat can be crushed and will pop back out to its original shape. This hat has been run over by trucks, chewed on by a horse, fell overboard and found on the bottom looking just fine (It does not float). Made to be used and still looks good! Has a cool mesh crown and real leather hat band and cotton chin cord.

Great Hat

I loved the hat. It fit comfortably, kept me cool and out of the sun. It got banged around a little bit while I had it, and held up well. Unfortunately, I had a car wreck coming back from a trip (which I wore every day), and lost the hat in the aftermath. Now, I am going to get a replacement, plus I have my eye on another one already.

Comfort and Style

I bought this hat for a trip to Mexico and it really delivered: my head stayed cool (I could feel the breeze on my noggin at times) and my wife tells me it looked good. This is something because I don't like wearing a hat but have to on account of my hairline. And it packed well, didn't get crushed in my suitcase. Highly recommended.

Second Time Around

This is the second hat in the Canvas Mesh style I've purchased and it fits just as well as the first and is ALMOST as good.
I say ALMOST because my first was bought 20 years ago and it came with a scarf headband that could be interchanged with other scarves. I have 20 years of scarves that match my outfits that I CAN'T USE with this new hat!
There is no way to secure them to the headband!! Grrrr
I'm now trying to jury rig a way to secure the scarves that doesn't look cheesy or ruin them.
Other then that the hat is as good as the first.

So the hat you purchased 20 years ago is the BC Hats Cool as a Breeze Canvas Ladies Hat. That one had the scarf and the leather belt loops on the side of the crown which allowed you to interchange 20 years of scarves.

The one you just purchased and gave us a 4 star review is a different hat: The BC Hats Cool as a Breeze Canvas Mesh Hat (slightly different name) is a slightly different hat that does not come with a scarf nor does it incorporate the leather belt loop.

Unfortunately, Bill Conner (BC) retired in 2020 and closed his factory after 50 years of making hand made hats. We sold the last of the Canvas Ladies Hats last year.
