It's best to spot clean all cloth hats with a damp cloth using cold water, or hand-wash in a sink if necessary. We recommend using plant-based soaps because regular detergents can be toxic for our waterways.
Always let your hat dry naturally. If your hat gets out of shape, you can use steam from a tea kettle to reshape it. Hold the hat in the steam and allow it to soften. You can then reshape your hat to its original shape and then let it cool down before wearing.
Another option to take out wrinkles on the brim is to place a clean rag or old T-shirt over the wrinkled area then iron the area.
I bought a Sun Shield as a replacement for my original Sun Shield, which is now mow my lawn hat.
I like the cut of its jib. As does my friend for whom I also bought one for his birthday.
Love this hat. After having skin cancer on my neck, keeping it covered was a top priority. I use this in my garden every day. Curious as to the best way to wash the hat to remove dirt?
Hi Janet, very sorry for late reply.. we have a whole section called Hat Care in the footer of the site with lots of videos that will explain this...
Have been wearing my sun shield hat for a few weeks now and couldn't be happier. Got it to protect from the sun here in Florida on the golf course and so far no complaints.
Most defintely perfect for the Florida sun.
Enjoy and stay sun safe!
Love this hat! Comfortable fit. Light weight. Great coverage. Just a dandy addition to the travel bag. The only slight flaw is the modest bulkiness of the additional sun flap. Refolding it can be awkward. But I highly recommend this chapeaux.
Glad you like it. Enjoy and stay sun safe!
