I live in England and received my BC bush hat as a Christmas gift well over 30 years ago and it is still going strong! I still wear it all the time, it has been all over the world with me and in July 2024 finally made its back to Oz. It is comfortable to wear, great at keeping the sun off my face and is timeless in its simplicity and style. I love my BC hat will be leaving instructions to be buried in it!
I received my hat. Being a Texan I was comparing it to Stetson.
This hat is much more Texas Friendly that a Straw Stetson in Summer, better insulated than a Wool hat in winter.
The inside is tailored as well as the outside! This is a life-ling Proper hat! And it turns out, I scored an Original BC hand-made hat!

You buy a second in another color. I first purchased the BC Hats Bac Pac Traveller Oily Australian Leather Hat in Brown. It was the best looking and best fitting hat I have ever worn in my 70 years. My excuse to buy another in black was I needed one to match my other "outfits" haha. The black one is just as amazing and exact same fit. A little tight at the first wearing but after that, it is a perfect fit to my head, and tight enough not to blow off in a wind. So happy, I display them in the entry to my home.
This was to replace the same model hat that was too small that I purchased a few years ago. There was a noticeable difference and not in a good way. Don't know if it's solely because of the change from "Genuine Steer Hide" to "Genuine Leather", but the newer version has a much less lustrous finish and just feels cheap. Returned it and the search for quality continues. Why do companies chose to make products worse instead of better?
I purchased my first BC hat at a small western store. I loved the hat from the beginning because of its durability to be crushed and retain its shape. On one occasion while crossing a busy highway my hat flew off my head and was hit by a semi and it’s trailer. I recovered the hat and other than some minor damage around the brim. I was able to wear the hat for another two years before it was stolen. When I found the BC website, I was very excited to know that I could have another one of these amazingly durable hats. I know I will have this hat for my lifetime and more.
