HOW TO FIND YOUR CORRECT HAT SIZE

Even the most accurate measurement of your head (which we will teach you here) doesn’t always mean the hat you receive will be a perfect fit. There are many factors that can get in the way of receiving the perfect fit on the first try. One is the use of natural materials. Sometimes leather or certain straw hats for example can be slightly thicker or thinner with each batch of material, even when sewing a hat the technician can use a little bit less or more pressure and the size will be slightly affected. So hat sizing isn’t an exact science but an accurate measurement of your head is a good place to start. That along with working with a hat brand that cares about you getting the perfect hat for you. WE PROVIDE FREE SIZE INSERTS IN EVERY ORDER JUST INCASE YOU NEED THEM.

WE DO WHAT IT TAKES TO FIND YOU THE PERFECT FIT!

 LETS GET STARTED ON YOUR HAT SIZE

  • Use a soft measuring tape or a piece of string (not elasticized or stretchy).
  • Place the tape measure or string on your forehead and measure the circumference about 1/2 inch or 1.5cm above your ears, about where your hat would sit.

  • If you have another hat that shows the size, you can use that information. 
  • Check the length of the tape measure or string to determine your size. (if using a string, hold it up against a ruler)
  • Use the size charts on the product pages to find your perfect fit. For example, if your measurement comes to 22 inches or 56cm, then you would choose a size Medium hat.
  • Make sure you measure your head multiple times and get 2 measurements that are the same to be 100% sure.

*If you fall in between sizes, choose the next biggest size. We will send two free size inserts with every hat ordered, just incase your hat needs a slight reduction. If you need more than 2 please reach out we can send you more.

See the size charts above. Your hat is either an individual size like Small or Medium or Large etc. or uses a stretch band that covers 2 sizes like Small/Medium and Large/X-Large. Each size can cover a slight range but that is OK, choose the size in your range.

"This hat is excellent, being well made and great to wear. It is like an old friend and I take it where ever I go. It is an attractive hat to wear everyday during all types of weather and events. The hat has worked well in hot sunny periods, high wind and heavy rain. While in the sun, the brim protects my ears and hair and the vent helps keep my head cool. When extended, the chin strap helps keep the hat from being blown off my head in windy conditions. During calm weather, the strap can be comfortably tucked back in the hat, draping down the back of my head."

Great hat

"Used mine on a 255 miles hike from Lucca to Rome in Italy in June/July. Most days with temperatures between 30-39 degrees Celsius (86-102 degrees Fahrenheit). The hat had a great fit, and my head never got unpleasantly hot during the hiking (and it kept the sweat out of my eyes also :-) ). I used the sun shield (neck shield) in the afternoon when the sun got low on the horizon, which was a bonus (no sunburn). I highly recommend this hat for hiking in warmer climates."

SUN SHIELD RECYCLED BOATER HAT

"This hat is great. Excellent quality. My 4th or 5th hat of the exact same model. I use this hat for daily commercial rooftop all day sun exposure. I have worn the large in the past, but seems to be a little tight on my head.. The X-large is great. The shield in the back is very convenient, folds up, or pull down, and doesn't get in the way. This hat is washable, but don't put it in the dryer. I had one shrink from the high heat from the dryer. The cord around the brim is what wears... the cord can poke thru eventually. Very Pleased. !"
