It's best to spot clean all cloth hats with a damp cloth using cold water, or hand-wash in a sink if necessary. We recommend using plant-based soaps because regular detergents can be toxic for our waterways.
Always let your hat dry naturally. If your hat gets out of shape, you can use steam from a tea kettle to reshape it. Hold the hat in the steam and allow it to soften. You can then reshape your hat to its original shape and then let it cool down before wearing.
Another option to take out wrinkles on the brim is to place a clean rag or old T-shirt over the wrinkled area then iron the area.
The hat seems very well made and finished. I bought it with wearing it in my 14 foot Aluminum boat exploring various lakes, the way the hat ties under the chin and back of the head means I shouldn't have to spend any time seeing if it does float, it should stay on in wind and at speed. I need a 2XL size in most hats which means there is almost nothing available in stores that fits, so I appreciated the ready availability of larger sizes. Their shipping is also very quick and there customer service accessible and helpful.
I travel overseas for volunteer work and vacations, this hat is perfect for my travels. Another benefit is that it's great for sailing or just walking on the beach.
I have a big head and it's hard to find a nice looking hat that fits my head -- and this one does!
....and it looks great! Love the headband.
Love the feel of the material as well. I also love the packability of it.
Congratulations for the Mojave recycled boat hat I received in my mail in Hawaii : It saves my neck and face every day from the sun when shooting pictures all day long on Oahu's North Shore ! and I already know it will be the perfect hat when at the beach any where in the world .... Keep on the great work .
I got a lot of compliments on the hat. It also did it’s job of protecting my head from the elements quite well. I would buy it again.
